Lucius Malfoy

BioLucius Malfoy, the only son of the Malfoy family and recently come into his inheritance, after his father Abraxas died of dragonpox, is a very influential person in the wizarding world. As head of one of the oldest wizarding families, his very name, not to mention the not insignificant family fortune, make him a respected and feared character and a force to be reckoned with.
In a bid to further strengthen the position of the Malfoy family, Lucius married Narcissa Black, sister of Bellatrix Black Lestrange. Whether any affection on either part was involved is doubtful.
As one of the wealthiest families in the wizarding world, the Malfoys never take steady employ, believing that to be beneath their station. Lucius is active at the Ministry, but only as a very powerful private individual. His power and influence has been diminished somewhat during the rise of Lord Voldemort, as he is suspected of connections with the dark wizard.
These suspicions remain exactly that, however. No firm proof can be given that Malfoy has ever actually participated in any Death Eater activities so far, although he is known to have consorted with known Death Eaters. This circumstantial evidence is not sufficient, however, for the Ministry to risk taking action against the head of such a prominent family.
Lucius has one son, the one year-old Draco Lucius Malfoy. Those close to the Malfoy family say that they maintain the traditional family roles, with Lucius leaving most aspects of care for the child in the hands of his wife and servants.
The Malfoy family live at Malfoy Manor, an old manor outside Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
Like all the Malfoys, Lucius values two characteristics over all others: breeding and usefulness. He respects only power, is almost servile to those of much greater power than him, courteous to purebloods and influential people and barely civil to everyone else. His belief in the importance of breeding, along with his regard for muggles as sub-human makes him hate halfbloods and muggleborn with quite a passion. He is a firm believer in the cause of the Dark Lord, but an even firmer believer in personal success and survival.
He has a rather vile temper, but is better at controlling it than many others. He is prone to a certain degree of rashness, but coming into his inheritance has moderated this trait and made him more of a calculating and premeditative character.
